Highest performance at lowest cost for ice cream line?????
The release of the world’s highest capacity ice cream extrusion line gives Tetra Pak customers the opportunity to make even greater savings on operational and maintenance costs.
“The new line has the highest capacity in the industry, delivering up to 43,200 pieces per hour,” said Jeremy Wright, Business Development Ice Cream, Tetra Pak Oceania. “That’s more than twice as fast as the highest speed production line currently operating in Australia at about 18,000 units an hour.
????“When the new line is running at full capacity, operational costs and environmental impact are the lowest in the industry.
“You can achieve a 60 percent increase in production with only 44 percent more energy and without extra operators, thanks to automation of previously manual operations and easy machine access for cleaning and maintenance,” Jeremy said.
Tetra Pak’s new high capacity extrusion line responds to growing global demand for ice cream. Last year, 17.2 billion litres of ice cream were consumed.
Compound annual growth of 1.8 percent is forecast between 2014 and 2019, led by Pacific Asia, North America and Western Europe, according to Global Ice Cream Consumption Trends by Euromonitor.
Tetra Pak’s new extrusion lines allow great flexibility in switching between sticks and sandwiches, as well as handling up to four flavours and up to 12 different coatings.
The efficient freezer and high-precision cutting equipment guarantee a uniform product with high stability – due to effective temperature control at every stage – as well as identical thickness.
Further along the process, the newly developed dip and transfer unit allows a gentle and precise dipping as well as a careful and error-free lay-off to the wrapper, resulting in minimal product waste.?
Key extrusion technology innovations include:
- Optimal hardening thanks to intelligent product placement and evaporator design
- A smart combination of robot technology and mechanical design
- Computer-based synchronization of machines
- High process repeatability thanks to the computer controls.
